(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) April 9, 2012 — Matt Williams is leaving as head of the Sun Country PGA and Amateur, to be replaced by Dana Lehner, communications and development chief.
Williams is leaving for a similar position with the Kansas City Golf Association. He has run the combined PGA Section and Sun Country Amateur Golf Association operation — collectively known as Sun Country Golf House — for 24 months.
He signed on as head of the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association in 2006. He previously ran Sonoma Ranch Golf Club in Las Cruces. As head of the combined pro-am operation, he ran the New Mexico Golf Tourism Alliance, a marketing entity for golf in New Mexico.
Lehner has been director of development for two years. Before that he was the section’s tournament director for four years. Lehner also worked for the the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on NBC, the All-American Baseball Game on Fox Sports Net and the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Lehner previously worked at Falcon Ridge Golf Club, the American Junior Golf Association and the Kansas State University Athletic Department.
