Competition Features 5 International Teams of Professionals
It’s the Second Edition of the Womens PGA Cup
Twin Warriors Golf Club at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa at Santa Ana Pueblo will host the 2022 Womens PGA Cup ー the premier international competition for women PGA club professionals ー October 24-29, 2022.
The Women’s PGA Cup is not played for prize money; rather, teams vie for bragging rights and the honor of winning the cup and the pride that comes with representing one’s country in a distinct and unique competition.
Twin Warriors, one of two courses on Santa Ana Pueblo, was designed by Gary Panks and opened in 2001. It plays through the high desert at about 5,800 feet above sea level and is routed in and around 20 ancient cultural sites.
Other features include grassy knolls, ridges dotted with juniper and pinon, dry arroyos and eroded land features, along with the sacred butte known as Tuyuna or “Snakehead,” all framed by spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains.
The director of golf instruction at Twin Warriors is Sandy Lemon, who is a member of both the PGA and LPGA. She also is director of instruction at Santa Ana Pueblo’s other course, Santa Ana Golf Club. Derek Gutierrez, the director of golf for both courses, is a member of the national PGA board.
