The Latest Holes-in-One, People Who Shot Their Age

New Mexico Golf News publishes a list of players who make holes in one on New Mexico golf courses, as well as recognizing older players who shoot their age.

To ensure accuracy, we publish information on each achievement we get it via email from someone associated with the golf course ([email protected], etc.)

Send us the name of the player, the date, the hole on the course, the yardage, the club used and whether it is the player's first, second or fifth.

If there are any other unusual or pertinent facts you think we should know, send them along as well.

June 30, 2019 – Emil Ashe of Albuquerque aced the 169-yard 16th hole at Arroyo Del Oso Golf Course with a 7-iron. It was his first.

May 17, 2019 – Lyman Tso of Mesa, Ariz., aced the 13th hole at Ladera Golf Course from 176 yards with a fairway hybrid. It was his first.

April 20, 2019 – Marilyn Burrows aced the 79-yard fifth hole of the Cheena nine at Santa Ana Golf Club with a pitching wedge. It was her fourth.

April 18, 2019 – Johnny Baca aced the 4th hole of the Dam Nine at Arroyo Del Oso Golf Course from 154 yards with a 7-iron. It was his second.

April 7, 2019 – Richard Molina aced the 8th hole of the Star Nine at Santa Ana Golf Club with a 9-iron from 116 yards. It was his first.

March 28, 2019 – Edward Heitter reported that he scored an albatross, or double eagle, on the University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course's 544-yard par 5 18th hole. He holed out from 251 yards with a 3-wood to make a 2. It was his first albatross.

March 7, 2019 – Paul Warnecke scored a hole-in-one at Santa Ana Golf Club's 151-yard Tamaya No. 6 with a 6-hybrid. It was his third.

Feb. 10, 2019 – Josh Harris aced the 177-yard 16th hole at Arroyo del Oso Golf Course with a 6-iron. It was his first.

February 2019 – Michael Lee aced the 125-yard 8th hole of the Star nine at Santa Ana Golf Club with a 9-iron. It was his second.

Jan. 27, 2019 – Ross Anaya of Albuquerque aced No. 16 at Ladera Golf Course with a 6-hybrid from 163 yards, his first.

Jan. 5, 2019 – George Chavez, aced the 153-yard Par 3 No. 11 at Sierra del Rio Golf Club. It was his second.

Nov. 10, 2018, – Joseph Chavez of Albuquerque aced No. 5 at Ladera Golf Course with a 7-iron from 155 yards. His first.

April 7, 2018 Ty Ried, director of golf and head professional at Sierra Del Rio Golf Club,  aced No. 2 at Sierra Del Rio with a 5-wood from 218 yards. His sixth.

March 10, 2018 Tom Velarde of Espanola aced No. 17 at Sierra Del Rio Golf Club with a 9-iron from 135 yards during a U.S. Senior Professional Tour event.

Don Hanson of Albuquerque shot his age, 86, at Tanoan Country Club.

Jack Fullerton of Albuquerque aced No. 3 at Sandia Golf Club with a 9-iron from 140 yards, his fourth.

Louie Luna of Albuquerque, aced No. 3 at Desert Greens Golf Course with an 8-iron from 167 yards, his fifth.

Tom McClarty of Albuquerque shot his age, 80, at Sandia Golf Club

Feb. 12, 2018 – Duke Neri shot his age, 71, on Santa Ana's Cheena/Star course.

Feb. 7, 2018 – Fred Hibben aced No. 5 at Santa Ana's Cheena nine with a 7-wood from 115 yards.

Feb. 6, 2018 – Sharon Camacho of Hoyt Lakes, Minn., aced No. 5 at Sierra del Rio with a 5-wood from 127 yards.

Feb. 4, 2018 – Jack Brant of Albuquerque aced No. 11 at the UNM Championship course with a 6-iron from 157 yards. His second.

Jan. 13, 2018 – Monty Mills of Albuquerque aced No. 5 at Ladera Golf Course with a 9-iron from 147 yards. His sixth.
